Breakdown recovery in Howth: request a tow from your phone

One way on and off the peninsula, steep lanes above the harbour. A precise pin saves a lot of searching.

Anyone hurt or in danger? Ring 112 first. Sort the vehicle out once everyone is safe.

Howth is a peninsula, and nearly every journey on or off it goes through Sutton Cross. Down at the harbour the roads are busy and parking is packed at weekends; up towards the Summit the lanes are narrow, steep and twisting.

Tips for a breakdown in Howth

  • On a steep lane, leave the handbrake on and the car in gear, and say in the notes which way it is facing
  • At the harbour, name the pier or the car park
  • On the hill roads, a photo of the spot shows the operator what kind of truck can get in

Sending the request

Set the pin, add the registration and the drop-off, pick the problem and check the price on screen. When an operator takes the job you will see them come through Sutton and out onto the peninsula.
