About

About TowNow

An app for drivers who need a tow, and a network of operators who take those jobs. Started in Dublin.

TowNow is built around two sides of the same problem: a driver who is stuck should not have to ring around to find a truck, and a tow operator with a free hour should be able to see who needs help nearby. The app puts both on the same map.

It was set up by Cameron McKinney, who has worked in towing and roadside recovery around Dublin for many years. The app is published under his name on the App Store and Google Play.

What TowNow is

  • For drivers: an app to request a tow or roadside help, with the pickup and drop-off, the vehicle, the price and the operator all on screen.
  • For operators: a way to take those requests, on the tower side of the same app.

The Mobile Support Unit

You may see TowNow’s green and white van on the road. Its side lists what it is kitted out for: tow truck support, mobile mechanic, mobile tyres, wrong fuel, locksmith and jump starts.

Where it is heading

TowNow started in Dublin and is growing into Meath, Kildare and Wicklow. The aim is for TowNow to be the name drivers think of when the car stops, across Ireland.
